Its immediate effect is to bring the body to a state of relaxation suitable for meditation, but other benefits include toning of the body, improved health and clarity of mind, and "presence," a heightened level of consciousness and self-awareness in the moment. Yoga concentrates on alignment of the body and harmonizing movement with breath. Its also about having fun at the same time.
These classes are suitable for all ages and levels of training. One doesn’t have to be flexible or strong, just willing. The teacher is sensitive to the needs of each person and adjusts the exercises accordingly.
